I hope it's appropriate to post job listings here. We're a startup looking for a developer with Spring experience. Here's the spiel:
---------------------------------------------------------------
We're an early-stage San Francisco startup developing a consumer-focused web application using Java and open source tools including Hibernate and the Spring Framework. Our management team has built successful companies in the past. The service we're building is in an unsaturated market with significant upside and revenue potential.
We're looking for a Sr. Software Engineer who has been a major contributor to one or more large-scale transactional web sites developed using server-side Java.
Required experience:
5+ years development, 3+ years server-side Java (EJB not required) Self-starter with experience coming up to speed on a large codebase with minimal supervision
Very strong OO analysis & design skills
Database schema design
Very strong SQL, including query optimization (e.g., you should know how to interpret the output of "explain" for at least one RDBMS, and how to optimize a query based on this output)
Experience with one of the major Java MVC web frameworks - e.g., Struts, or ideally, Spring MVC
JavaMail
Strongly desired:
Spring Framework, or other "lightweight" / "inversion of control" container like Avalon or PicoContainer. At the very least, you'll need a strong interest in and desire to learn Spring, because the application is heavily based on it.
Hibernate (or other O/R mapping layer)
PostgreSQL
Tomcat
JSTL 2.0 and JSP custom tag library development
JUnit
Quartz (job scheduling API)
Java Advanced Imaging
If this describes you, please send a resume with the subject line "Sr. Software Engineer" to engineering_resumes@yahoo.com
